AltaRock Energy is a renewable energy development company focused on the research and development of Engineered Geothermal Systems (EGS). AltaRock has filed patent applications for a portfolio of patents in the EGS area and holds exclusive licenses for related intellectual property.
AltaRock’s current activities include the Newberry Geothermal Energy (NEWGEN) project in Oregon, development of approximately 300,000 acres of land in Washington and Oregon for Weyerhaeuser, and a research and development project in Hungary. AltaRock carries out field management of BottleRock Power, LLC. in The Geysers Geothermal Field in northern California, and owns and operates the Blue Mountain geothermal power plant in Winnemucca, Nevada.
Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, AltaRock Energy was founded in 2007 by President and Chief Technology Officer, Susan Petty.
